The Bakersfield and Noble Ball Teams were to have met here last Saturday for a match game of ball, but for some reason the Bakersfield boys failed to make their appearance.

Several of the Pine Creek club came to witness the contest and rather than disappoint the crowd, mustered up a team and gave the Noble boys battle which resulted in a score of 9 to 11 in favor of Noble.

Friday is the annual downtown flea market in Bakersfield. Everyone is invited to come set up a booth or just come and browse around or shop for that one-of-a-kind item.

This annual event is a favorite of many and has grown over the past couple of year.

On Saturday, there will be a co-ed slow-pitch softball tournament, a pony pull and a horseshoe pitching contest. ...

All of the Saturday activities will be held at the Oddfellows’ Ballpark south of town.
