Summit Conference champs

The Gainesville Junior High girls basketball team earned the Summit Conference championship for the first time in four years. Gainesville, undefeated on the season, had the number 1 seed and had a bye in the first round of the tounament, held Oct. 17-21 at Mansfield. The junior Lady Bulldogs took on number 4 seed Mansfield in the second round, and beat them 34-11. The Lady Bulldogs played number 2 seed Hartville for the conference championship and won, 23-12. “I am very proud of how hard the girls have worked this season. This is a talented group of girls that play really well together,” said Coach Lance West. The team, undefeated with a 13-0 record is competing in the Koshkonong tournament this week and defeated Junction Hill, 49-9, in the first round Monday.
