Gainesville’s JV goes on eight-game winning streak

Gainesville’s junior varsity recently went on an eight-game winning streak, bringing their record to 10-5 and 5-1 in conference play.

On Jan. 30, the junior Bulldogs defeated Seymour 42-40 when Jalen Evans drained a three-pointer at the buzzer. Cody Donley led the scoring with 11 points, followed by Tanner Jennings with 8. Andrew Ball and Ryelon Estes each added 6. Isaac Hartman and Jalen Evans chipped in 3 points each and Dalton Howard added 2 points.

The JV Bulldogs hosted the Norwood Pirates Friday, Feb. 2, and won 38-35 led by Ben Pointer with 13 points and Jalen Evans with 11. Cody Donley, Parker Wise and Tanner Jennings each added 3 points. Andrew Ball and Ryelon Estes scored 2 each, and Dalton Howard added 1.

The junior Bulldogs added a 17-point road win over Fordland Tuesday, Feb. 6. Players scoring for Gainesville’s 32-15 win were Jalen Evans 9, Tanner Jennings 8, Cody Donley 6, Ryelon Estes 4, Isaac Hartman and Dalton Howard 2 each and Ben Pointer 1.

The team’s winning streak came to an end Feb. 9, when they fell to Mansfield, 46-.32. Players scoring for Gainesville were Andrew Ball 9, Ben Pointer 6, Cody Donley 5, Tanner Jennings and Dalton Howard with 4 each and Jalen Evans with 2. The JV team played their last game of the season Tuesday night at Hartville. Game results were unavailable at press time.
