Dora School marks Red Ribbon Week

Dora pre-K student Chet Wheeler, pictured here with Dora school counselor Amelia Menz, won the Red Ribbon Week elementary prize for his wacky hair.

Dora School celebrated Red Ribbon Week Oct. 30-Nov. 2 in collaboration with Wood & Huston Bank of West Plains. The activity focused on alcohol and drug prevention education. Counselor Amelia Menz awarded daily prizes, sponsored by the bank, to the students and faculty members who embodied each day’s Red Ribbon Week theme. 

Pre-kindergarten student Chet Wheeler won the elementary prize for his wacky hair on Thursday. Middle school special education teacher Emily Yeager, first grader Ford Howard and eighth grader Felicity Duncan won prizes for “going all out with Falcon school spirit,” Menz said. Ninth grader India Butler, elementary principal Brett Mitchell and six grader Carson Howard won with their Halloween costumes.
