Steven Robert Pettit, 74
Funeral services for Steven Robert Pettit, 74, of Pottersville, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, at the Ball Church of Christ south of Dora. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home in West Plains. Mr. Pettit died Sept. 1, at his home.
He was born Feb. 14, 1944, in West Plains, the son of Beryl Robert and Betty Exline Pettit. On Nov. 22, 1968, in Dora, he married Carol Rieger.
Mr. Pettit was a Navy veteran. He had worked as a lineman with Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative and was co-founder of Pettit Canoe Rentals.
He loving hunting and fishing and enjoyed the many hunting trips he made with his friends to Colorado and Caney Mountains. Mr. Pettit loved being with all of his family. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Pettit, of the family home; three children, Cherri Kelley and husband Scott, and Craig Pettit and wife Sheri, all of Dora, and Darrick Pettit of Pottersville; three grandchildren, Monica Kelley, Abby Kelley and Jonathon Pettit; one brother, Pat Pettit and wife Bev of Caulfield; and one sister, Diane Hambelton and husband Broya of Dora.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Mike Pettit.
Burial will be in the Ball Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ball Cemetery and left at the funeral home.
