Russell Kirk Robinson, 66

Russell Kirk Robinson, 66

Russell Kirk Robinson, 66, of Tecumseh, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, at his home due to a heart attack. No local services are planned.

He was born April 10, 1951, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, the son of Henry and Mary Robinson. He grew up in Prestonsburg, and during his lifetime he also lived in Ypsilanti, Michigan and Cheyenne, Okla-homa, as well as in Tecumseh.

He worked most of his life as a welder until becoming disabled because of health issues. He was known as someone who always did the best he could. He loved his children, who knew him as a wonderful dad who showed unconditional love for them. He taught them that spending time with family doing the simplest things in life was most important, not money and possessions. Next to his children, hunting and fishing were true passions for him, and nothing made him happier. His idea of family time was cooking out on the grill, taking his children hunting and fishing, and camping. Through his actions, he taught his children and others to be kind and loving, and just to be themselves.

He is survived by his children, Angela Avila, Lisa Robinson and John Robert Robinson, all Fort Smith, Arkansas; his brother, Earl Robinson of Kentucky; six grandchildren; Ashley Robertson, Jeffrey Robertson, Coleton Blair, Sammy Avila, Preston Cloud and Dylan Robinson; three great-grandchildren, Jayden Robinson, Ryan Robertson and Alina Blair; and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings.

Arrangements by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
