Roberta Mae Clayton, 82

Funeral services for Roberta Mae Clayton, 82, of Isabella, were held Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville with Jimmy Kyle officiating. Mrs. Clayton died Sept. 22, 2017, in Shattuck, Oklahoma.

She was born Feb. 14, 1935, in Dillard, Missouri, the daughter of Treffie and Hilma Adams. She married, had two daughters and was later divorced. Later she married Robert Voyles Jr., the love of her life. They moved from St. Louis to Isabella, and she remained there after Mr. Voyles’ death in 1986. She worked 30 years as a legal secretary until her retirement in 1980. Her hobbies included canning, quilting, embroidering, reading and crocheting. She was a very social, out-going and friendly person.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathryn Sue Brown and husband Dennis and Charlene Marcella Elliott; grandson Jason Anthony; brothers Arnold Adams and wife Ella and Gordon Adams; sisters Patty and Mary; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Roger.

Burial was in the Isabella Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
