Opal Fay Luna, 93

Graveside services for Opal Fay Luna, 93, of Gainesville, were held Jan. 7, 2020, in the Gainesville Cemetery. Mrs. Luna died Jan. 5 at the Gainesville Health Care Center.

 She was born Aug. 8, 1926, in Gainesville, the daughter of Albert and Clora Sanders Allen. She grew up in Gainesville and graduated from Gainesville High School.

In 1948, she married Raymond “Legs” Luna. She raised her family while owning and operating Luna’s Café. After her girls were grown, she began a 30-year career with what was then called Con-Tel phone company in Branson. After retirement, she settled back in Ozark County to be closer to her family.

She is survived by her three daughters: Sandra Amyx Wendel and husband John, Sonja Grisham and husband Larry, and Mary Lee Adamson; grandchildren Ray Grisham and wife Missy, Keith Grisham and wife Becky, Shannon Adamson and wife Amanda, Jeff Adamson and wife Alicia, and Alicia Amyx Winrod and husband Gideon; 16 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Otis Nay Allen and wife Jean.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister, Ola Ray Stewart.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Gainesville Cemetery.
