Funeral services for Mildred “Millie” Lois Patterson, 70, of Gainesville, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2020, at Frontier Baptist Church in Pontiac with Bruce DeWeese officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. June 18 at Oak Forest Cemetery in Bland, Missouri. Mrs. Patterson died June 14 at Baxter Regional Hospital in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

She was born Aug. 25, 1949, in Lees Summit, the daughter of William and Lois Green. On Aug. 22, 1986, she married Joe Patterson, creating a blended family of six children. Shortly after their marriage, they bought their farm on Elk Head Road in Bland, where they labored together to build a beautiful farmstead until 2004, when they felt the Lord leading them to Gainesville.

A cherished wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Mrs. Patterson had an immense love for God, family and extended family, as well as her church family and her community. She was the epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman: “clothed with strength and dignity, … she laughs without fear of the future.”

She enjoyed fishing, and rumor has it she could out-fish her husband. She loved to have her house full of family and friends, and she could happily spend hours with them playing Rook, one of her favorite card games.

Mrs. Patterson had a tender heart for the youth, and she went to great lengths to teach and share with them about Jesus. She lived her life according to the Word of God, especially 1 John 4:7, which says, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.”

She leaves behind and will forever be remembered by her beloved husband, Joseph Patterson, and their children Barbara Strout, Carrie Durbin, Tammy Spletcher, David Patterson, Ben Patterson and Elizabeth Patterson-George; her beloved sibling, Linda Poling; grandchildren, Brandy Morris, Matthew Durbin, William Hodge, Jessica Peach, Kenneth Williams, Nicholas Strout, Andrew Durbin, Shane Manues, Tyler Manues, Kaitee Durbin, Andrew and Carmen Patterson, Tyler Burk, Quinten and Harrison George, Jacob Albert, Jarred Albert, Sara Smith and Amanda Davis, Becky Farha, Betsy Pierpoint and Robyn Farha; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, extended family members and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Jackie Bill Green, Lela Ardelia Garringus, William Benjamin Green, Donna Green and Ronnie Green; and her daughter-in-law, Patricia Patterson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the youth group of Frontier Baptist Church in Pontiac.
