Maxine DeBord, 91

Funeral services for Maxine DeBord, 91, of Princeville, Illinois, were held May 1, 2018, at Princeville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Zach Waldis officiating. Mrs. DeBord died April 25 at Heritage Health & Therapy Services in Chillicothe, Illinois.
She was born June 13, 1926, in Ozark County, the daughter of Harrison and Iva Lawson Friend. On March 24, 1953, in Chillicothe, she married Henry “Bub” DeBord.
She first worked as a waitress at the 88 Club in Edelstein, Illinois, and after that she worked at the former Home Comfort in Princeville for many years. She then was a cook and waitress at Eileen’s Restaurant in Princeville until it closed. Mrs. Debord last worked as custodian at Princeville Grade School until she retired.
She and her husband enjoyed several fishing trips to Minnesota and Wisconsin. She loved spending time with her big family.
She was a member of the Princeville United Methodist
Church.
Survivors include one brother, Edd Friend and wife Ina of Noble; three sisters, Peggy Robbins and husband Bob of Gainesville, Polly Ousley and Fern Cantwell, both of Ava; two sisters-in-law, Joan DeBord of Princeville and Juanita Friend of Wichita, Kansas; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who died Aug. 16, 2009; four brothers, four sisters, six half-sisters, two half-brothers and many nieces and nephews.
Burial was in Princeville Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Akron-Princeville Ambulance Service or to Princeville United Methodist Church.
