Logan Brown, 92

Funeral services for Logan Brown, 92, of Ava, were held April 16, 2018, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava with Pastor Oren Alcorn officiating and grandson Logan Chrislaw presenting the eulogy. Mr. Brown died April 12 at his home with his wife, Cinita, and family by his side.
Mr. Brown was born July 20, 1925, in Rockbridge, the son of Walter H. and Anna Hicks Brown. On Oct. 22, 1952, at Ava General Baptist Church, he married Cinita Davis
He was a retired carpenter who had also served as Douglas County coroner for many years and operated the Ava Area Ambulance Service during the 1970s. He was a Christian and a member of the Ava General Baptist Church for almost 60 years.
Mr. Brown was an avid reader and enjoyed collecting and displaying antique tools. He had a great sense of humor, and his greatest joy was spending time with his family. There was always laughter when he was around.
He is survived by Cinita, his wife of 65 years; his daughters, Lynne Brown-Chrislaw and husband Charlie Chrislaw of Fayette and Jane Brown of Ava; three grandsons, Andrew Logan Brown of Brinkley, Arkansas, Logan Wallace Chrislaw of Fayette and Lucas Charles Chrislaw and wife Jessica of Glasgow; a step-granddaughter, Dezerah Gilleland of Pleasant Hope; one great-granddaughter, Jaiden Elizabeth Brown of Kennett, and one step-great-grandson, Eli Michael Johanning of Glasgow;  one sister, Lucille Brown of Burlington, Kansas, and one brother, Lloyd Brown of Tarkio; grandson Andrew Brown’s mother, Ruth Ann Brown of Brinkley; sister-in-law Marjorie Davis Gannaway of Stockton; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Keith Logan Brown, who died in 1992; three sisters, Luetta, Irene and Georgia; a brother, Herbert; his father-in-law, Coma Davis; and brother-in-law, Paul Davis.
