Lavonna Anne Twitty, 78
Funeral services for Lavonna Anne Twitty, 78, of Wasola, are scheduled for 2 p.m. today, June 19, 2019, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava with Pastors Stan Collins and Maxine Lund officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Twitty died June 15 at home with her family by her side.
She was born Sept. 13, 1940, in Noble, the daughter of Jim and Hatty Frye McDaniel. In 1957, she married George Twitty in Ava. She was a Christian and attended Thornfield House of Prayer. She enjoyed sewing, growing flowers and reading.
After she retired from Emerson Electric in Ava, she took up farming and taking care of grandchildren. They were her joy, and she especially enjoyed spending afternoons with them skipping rocks at the creek. She also enjoyed the companionship of her long-haired chihuahua, Bear Bear.
She is survived by four sons, Tim Twitty and fiancee Kim, and Greg Twitty, all of Wasola, Roger Twitty and wife Rhonda of Forsyth, and Joe Twitty and wife Elaine of Pascagoula, Miss-issippi; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Twitty, and 10 siblings.
