Kathy Carter McFarland, 66

The life of Kathy Luanne Carter McFarland, 66, of Ozark, will be celebrated in a gathering of friends and relatives from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018, at The Center on Highway 5 north of the Gainesville city limits. Wayne Stewart will officiate. Mrs. McFarland died Sept. 12, 2018, in Springfield. 

She was born May 8, 1952, in West Plains, the daughter of R. Waco and Delphia Carter. She grew up on on her family’s farm in the  Bakersfield-Gainesville area. After graduating from high school she moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas. She worked as a florist and did interior design for more than 25 years. In 1991 she married Jerry McFarland, the love of her life, and moved to Ozark, where she ran their contracting business. She enjoyed spending time on the lake, painting, playing games with the grandchildren, taking trips to the casino and a host of other activities. Her family and friends knew her as a stunningly beautiful lady and a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry McFarland of Ozark; her daughter Brandy Hamm and husband Marty Hamm of Ozark; her son, Aaron Clark and wife Jessica of Sparta; stepson Brian McFarland and wife Cindy of Lowell, Arkansas; stepdaughter Deanna Rose and wife Jessica of Flippin, Arkansas; grandchildren case Allen and wife Lisa, Brendan McFarland, Taylor Harrington, Kyra McFarland, Jordan Allen, Corey Rose, Logan Clark; four great-grandchildren; her brother Waco Carter Jr. And wife Monika; niece and nephew Kristin and Karim Najdi, and nephew Tobias Carter; her dear best friend Connie Simpson; and cousin Myra Sasseen and several other cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
