Joseph Dolecki, 100

Joseph F. Dolecki, 100, of Gainesville, died June 6, 2018, at his home. No memorial service is planned as his family and friends celebrated his life at a 100th birthday party in December.
He was born Dec. 15, 1917, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Thomas and Josephine Dolecki.  He spent four years in the Army during World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater as a commando and later as a tank corps gunner. He later received a B.A. degree from the University of Alabama, an M.A. degree from George Washington University and a Ph.D. in economics and foreign affairs from New York University. He taught economics at several colleges before coming to Warrensburg, where he taught at the University of Central Missouri for 28 years.
Survivors include Yolanda Dolecki, his wife of 69 years; his two sons, John Dolecki and Joseph Dolecki and significant other Ruth; two granddaughters, Zoe and Cassandra; and one sister, Wanda Housteau.
