Jonnie ‘Jo’ Braden, 82

Funeral services for Jonnie Jo Bradshaw Skinner Braden, 82, of Kissee Mills, were scheduled for 10 a.m. today, March 14, 2018, at Whelchel Grace Funeral Home in Forsyth. Mrs. Braden died March 9 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield.
She was born Oct. 21, 1935, in Carroll County, the daughter of John A. and Nancy Maurine Benson Bradshaw. She attended Wakenda Grade School and graduated from Carrollton High School in 1953. In June 1953 she married Thomas Melvin Skinner. Together they had three children: Thomas “Tommy” Joe, Michalen “Mikie” and Harold.
On April 13, 2008, she married Howard Dale Braden.
Mrs. Braden was a Christian and a member of the Church of Christ in Forsyth.
She was a loving, kindhearted and hard-working mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. She taught her granddaughters how to make the world’s best cookies.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Braden of Kissee Mills; her children, Tommy Joe Skinner and wife Sherry of Protem, Michalen “Mikie” Marler and husband Roger of Theodosia, and Harold Skinner and wife Kimberly of Lancaster, Ohio; step-daughter Holly Wilson and husband Roger of Taneyville; brother-in-law Glenn Dysart of Kansas City; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many loving family members, brothers and sister in Christ and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Tommy Skinner, who died in 1987; three sisters: Zelda Fay Bradshaw, Sue Frizzell and Nancy Dysart; two grandsons: Michael Marler and Andy Marler, both formerly of Theodosia; and a step-son, Rocky Braden.
