Faye Cole, 100

Faye Cole, 100

Funeral services for Ida Faye Cole, 100, of Taneyville, were held Dec. 31, 2018, at Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home in Forsyth with Pastors Randy and Rob Dalton officiating. Mrs. Cole died Dec. 27 at her home.

She was born Monday, April 22, 1918, in Theodosia, the daughter of William and Edna Kelly Friend. She attended school in Ozark County and met Otis Ray Cole here. They were March 21, 1937, in Protem.

Mrs. Cole became a homemaker and also worked for two years in a local nursing home as a nursing aid. She stayed in the area her whole life, mainly as a homemaker. She was a kid at heart – a loving, caring woman who was fun to be around. She loved to prank the family, and they pranked her right back, often playing on her strong fear of frogs.  She enjoyed quilting, reading her Bible and fishing. She was a member of the Bryant Ridge Church in Taneyville.

She is survived by one daughter, Sue Hughey of Taneyville; six grandchildren, Randy Hughey, Rocky Hughey, Mike Cole, Mary Cole Jones, Sherri Gideon and D.J. Cole; 10 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Otis Cole, who died in 1990; two sons, Verlon “Billy” Cole and Donald Ray Cole; one brother, Ted Friend; and a twin sister, Mary Bailey.

Burial was in the Dickens Cemetery in Taneyville. Memorials contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or cancer.org.

Arrangements by Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home, Forsyth.
