Eva ‘Lois’ Lewis, 88

Funeral services for Eva “Lois” Lewis, 88, of Gainesville, were held  Jan. 20, 2018, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville with Clayton King officiating. Mrs. Lewis died Jan. 17 at Gainesville Health Care Center in Gainesville.

She was born Oct. 6, 1929, on Lick Creek, the daughter of Johnny Wayne and Edith Rife Crawford. She graduated from Mountain Home (Arkansas) High School in 1947 and attended the Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway (now the University of Central Arkansas.) She was a teacher at Clarkridge, Arkansas, and Bald Tom, Arkansas, schools and also at Bentley Ridge school when it consolidated to Clarkridge. She also worked at Mar-Bax shirt company in Gassville, Arkansas.

On Nov. 25, 1953, she married Mack Lewis. She then worked in Kansas City at National Bellas Hess Co., packaging general-merchandise mail orders. She was a lifelong native of Clarkridge and enjoyed spending time with her family and dressing up her granddaughters to take to church.

Mrs. Lewis is survived by one son, Darin Lewis of Gainesville; three granddaughters, Misti Snyder, Melisa Howard and Hannah Lewis; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, one son and her husband.

Burial will be in the Howards Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Howards Ridge Cemetery.
