Elener Arlene Maine, 89
Graveside services for Elener Arlene Maine, 89, of Bakersfield, were held Dec. 12, 2017, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Udall. Mrs. Maine died Dec. 9 at South Fork River Therapy and Living in Salem, Arkansas.
She was born June 22, 1928, in Almartha, the daughter of Ewing and Maudie Hammons Fry. She graduated from Emmitt High School in Emmitt, Idaho. On May 28, 1948, in Boise, Idaho, she married Harold LeRoy Maine. Mrs. Maine worked in various factories; she retired from Baxter Laboratory in Mountain Home, Arkansas, in 1991 after 21 years of service. After retirement, she enjoyed her family, traveling and dancing.
She is survived by five children: Harold L. Maine Jr. and wife Hope, Chrystina Johnston and husband Freddy, Phillip Maine and wife Bennie, James Maine and Elnona Hall and husband Richard; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one brother; two sisters; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Harold Maine, her husband of 50 years, who died Nov. 20, 1998; several little angels in God’s loving hands; one daughter-in-law, Patty Maine; one sister and two brothers; and Robert McCord, her partner of 18 years.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Pleasant Cemetery and may be left at the funeral home.
