Dohna Fay Mahan, 98

Funeral services for Dohna Fay Mahan, 98, of Gainesville, were held April 9, 2019, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville with Halbert Smith officiating. Mrs. Mahan died April 6 at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains.

She was born Feb. 1, 1921, in Brixey, the daughter of Harold and Blanch Luna Bushong. On March 8, 1940, in Yazoo City, Mississippi, she married William Ralph Mahan. 

Mrs. Mahan  led a simple life but took great pride in her family. She was a homemaker in every sense of the word. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and her chickens, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Jerald Mahan of Gainesville, Phyllis Mullins of Kansas City and Tom Mahan of Springfield; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three children, Nettie Hudson, Jim Mahan and Phillip Lee Mahan; and six siblings.

Burial was in the Smith Chapel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Smith Chapel Cemetery.
