Dale Ray, 70

Funeral services for Dale Boyd Ray,70, of Noble, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava with Pastor Robert Roberts officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Ray died peacefully on May 23, 2021, at his home with his wife and daughter by his side.

He was born January 19, 1951, in Gainesville, the son of Carl Wayne and Norma Neressa Cantwell Ray. He was a 1968 Gainesville High School graduate.

On Nov. 25, 1972, in Ava, he married Debby Rogers.

Mr. Ray was owner and operator of Dale’s Drywall for more than 25 years. He had also worked at Emerson Electric in Ava for several years. He was saved and baptized at the First General Baptist Church in Ava. He loved his work and enjoyed meeting people. He also had a love for animals, and they loved him. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with all his friends and family. His joy was watching his grandkids play sports or anything else they were involved with. 

He is survived by his wife, Debby, of the home; his daughter Jennifer Heinlein and husband Steven; three grandchildren, Gracie, Corey and Cole;        his mother-in-law, Loweta Rogers; siblings Glenda Hannah and husband Ron, Sue Graham and husband Darrell, and Lana Hampton and husband Mike, all of Ava, and Roger Ray of Knoxville, Tennessee; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Darrell Ray.   

Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Wasola. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Rescue One in Springfield or to Oak Grove Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at clinkingbeardfuneralhome.com.
