Dale F. Starkey, 69

A celebration of the life of Dale F. Starkey, 69, of Theodosia, formally of St. Anne Illinois, will be scheduled at a later date. Mr. Starkey died Friday, May 25, 2018, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield after a four-month battle with lymphoma and other complications.
He was born March 7, 1949, in Kankakee Illinois, the son of Homer and Dorothy Starkey of St. Anne. He graduated from Bishop McNamara High School in 1967 and attended Joliet Junior College, where he met Judy Bisset. They were married on Sept. 7, 1968, in Joliet.
In 1996, the Starkeys relocated to Missouri, where he worked as head maintenance supervisor at Gainesville and Lutie Schools until he retired in 2008. Wherever he called home, he enjoyed fishing, boating, spending time with friends and family and keeping them laughing, and mastering any project thrown his way with his buddy Bruno by his side.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; his daughter Kim Kerness of St. Anne; his son Derek and wife KiKi of Round Rock, Texas; granddaughters Allison, Payton, Tabitha, Corva-lena and Zoe Mae; siblings Ray Starkey of Palm Bay Florida, Roy  Starkey and wife Gunda of Copperas Cove, Texas, Robert Starkey and wife Kathy of  Round Rock , Paul Starkey and wife Jerri of Oceanside California), Paula Riberdy and husband Mark of Bourbonnais, Illinois, Sherry Hays and husband William  of Romeoville, Illinois, Mary Harriington and husband Tim of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Roberta Russel and husband Robert of Beaverville, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
 He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John and James ,and sister Myrna.
