Christopher ‘Chris’ Hannaford, 48

Chris Hannaford, 48, of Gainesville, died March 23, 2019, at the Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center in Ava. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

He was born Aug. 7, 1970, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, the son of Jerry and Janet Sanford Hannaford. He was a 1988 graduate of Gainesville High School, and soon after graduation, he began working in heavy construction. He spent many years on the road, mostly as a superintendent for various companies.

He moved back to Gainesville in 2011 and bought the family farm where he grew up. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting his guns and doing anything outdoors. Most of all, he loved his family. He had a heart of gold and was always ready to help anyone in need. His warm smile and gentle spirit will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his fiancée, Lori Crouch; his mother, Janet Hannaford; his brother, Kent Hannaford; two nephews, Kyle Hannaford and wife Tara, and Kenny Hannaford and wife Kalyn; two great-nieces, Jade and Evelyn; two close friends, Rob and Marvin; and a host of extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Hannaford.

Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.

Arrangements by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
