Billy Roe Farris Jr., 47

 

Funeral services for Billy Roe Farris, Jr., 47, of Caulfield, were held Jan. 19, 2020, at First Baptist Church in West Plains. Mr. Farris died in a car crash Jan. 14 in South Fork.

He was born Dec. 30, 1972, in Calico Rock, Arkansas, the son of Billy and Tressie Farris . On Aug. 1, 2009, he married Chasity Cheever. Together they had two children, William and Ellasyn Farris. Mr. Farris also had another daughter, Ashley Farris Schaaf.

Throughout the years, Mr. Farris, a military veteran, served his country as a federal police officer and a corrections officer. For the past eight years, he worked as a grader for Armstrong Flooring in West Plains. 

He enjoyed spending his spare time hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He leaves behind a martial arts legacy as a 10th degree grandmaster in American Freestyle Keno and head instructor for the Missouri Mighty Warriors. His sense of humor, contagious laughter, funny stories and bear hugs will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife Chasity, his son, William Farris and daughter, Ellasyn Farris, all of the family home, and his daughter Ashely Schaaf and husband Tyler of Indiana and their children, Ryan and Delilah; his mother, Tressie Farris; two brothers, Rockie Farris and wife Marna, and Thomas “T.J.” Farris and wife Bridgette; two sisters, Alice Buck and husband Oliver, and Sally Eaton and husband Cloyce, all of Arkansas; mother-in-law, Fara Cheever; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Roe Farris; one sister, Teresa Hodge; and his father-in law, Glenn Cheever.
