Bernice Turner, 79
Graveside services for Bernice Turner, 79, of Bakersfield, were held Feb. 17, 2018, at Bakersfield Cemetery. Mrs. Turner died Feb. 15 at NHC Healthcare in West Plains.
She was born Jan. 28, 1939, in Fulton County, Arkansas, the daughter of Thomas Burlin and Nellie Mae Robins Sanders. She attended Bakers-field High School, and on Aug. 10, 1956, at Desoto, Missis-sippi, she married Mayford Turner. She operated a dairy farm with her husband for many years; Mrs. Turner loved being a homemaker and was an excellent cook, making the best family dinners.
She is survived by two children, John Turner and wife Karla of Caulfield, and Devon Pendergrass and husband Neal of Mountain Home, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Justin Turner and wife Andrea, Kent Turner, Carlissa McGahan and husband Chase, Wesley Pendergrass, and Turner Pendergrass and wife Emily; one great-grandchild, Scarlett Turner; and many other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, who died Oct. 31, 1986.
