Addie Lee Estes, 57

Addie Lee Estes, 57

Addie Lee Estes, 57, of Yellville, Arkansas, died Sept. 26, 2018, at her home. Funeral arrangements were private.

She was born Dec. 17, 1960, in Gainesville, the daughter of Roland Glenn and Betty Eileen Thiele Sweet.

She graduated from Gainesville High School in 1979. She grew up on a ranch and had many trades and talents. She traveled at a young age, bartending to provide herself with income. Later she would settle down again on her own ranch and raise her two sons, surrounded by her animals. She was a teacher of K-12 special education. Her passion and her drive kept her busy, but she always found time to do more. Some of her crafts included making soap, jams, jellies, lotions and facial scrubs, and cooking for her family, especially on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Some of her family’s favorite dishes included her homemade chili and her shepherd’s pie (called poor man’s pie by her family).

Ms. Estes’ life was full, and she left an impression on all those she met. She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind, and she had stories to back it up. There is no doubt she left an impression on everyone she met. She will be missed, and the memories of her will be treasured.

Survivors include her two sons, Rockne Estes of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Dustin Estes of Yellville; two brothers, Rockne Lynn Sweet and Roland Patrick Sweet, both of Yellville; three sisters, Carrie Mae Sweet of Green Forest, Arkansas, Charlene Kathryn Sweet and Jessie Faye Sweet, both of Dallas, Texas.
