Mack James, 90

A graveside service for Mack James, 90, of Mount Vernon, formerly of Tecumseh, is scheduled for 2 p.m. today, Nov. 18, 2020, at the James Cemetery in Tecumseh. Mr. James died Nov. 13 in Mount Vernon. 

He was born Oct. 9, 1930, in Dawt, the son of Samuel Anthony and Martha Della Hodgson James. 

Mr. James served in the Army and was proud to be a combat veteran of the Korean War. He was a lover of the outdoors and enjoyed nothing more than to take his kids and grandchildren hunting and fishing. He retired as a heavy equipment operator after 40 years. He will be lovingly remembered by family and friends.

Survivors include Francis, his wife of 57 years; and his children, David James, Victoria Green and Tammy McHaffie, all of Mount Vernon, and Richard McHaffie of Owasso, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; nine siblings, Eplhy, Owen, Othel, Clenton, Jewel, Gracie, Clifford, Clarice and Vanton; and one grandchild, Stephanie.
