Kathy King, 65

Funeral services for Kathy King, 65, of Tecumseh, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville with Jimmy Kyle officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the White Oak Cemetery near Tecumseh.

Kathy died Sept. 17, in West Plains with her family surrounding her.

She was born Kathy Mae Anderson to the late Neal Anderson and Lena Lewis on Nov. 21, 1956, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Kathy was the youngest of her siblings: Jerry “Red,” Louise, Ila and Charlie. Being the baby comes at a price, and she learned quickly not to fall for the “ol’ firecracker in the cow patty” trick.

On Sept. 2, 1972, she married Lonnie Rulo. They had three children: Teresa, Lonnie “Pete” and Peggy, who gave her 16 grandkids and 15 great grandkids. She loved being a “Nanny,” probably even more than being a mom. She loved Christmas time with the grandkids and great-grandkids and occasionally scaring them with her witche’s laugh.

In 1989, she met Murrill Pace, and gained a stepson Justin, who added four more grandkids to her life.

Kathy is survived by her partner Murrill Pace of Tecumseh; her children: Teresa Landsdown and husband William of Gainesville, Lonnie “Pete” Rulo of Piedmont, and Peggy Smith and husband James of Parshall, North Dakota; a host of grandkids; great-grandkids; nieces and nephews who were all close to her; and many other friends and loved ones.

Memorial contributions may be made to help with funeral expenses. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
