Gary Lynn Wages, 66
Graveside services for Gary Lynn Wages, 66, of Unionville, formerly of Gainesville, will be held at 1 p.m. today, Aug. 5, 2020, at Fairley Cemetery north of Princeton, Missouri. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. today at Roberson Funeral Home in Princeton. Mr. Wages died July 30 at a North Kansas City hospital. He was born March 22, 1954, in Exline, Iowa, the son of Roy and Edna Cline Wages.
Mr. Wages was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt and take care of his cattle. Family members remember seeing him go out to feed and tend his cows with a smile on his face.
He also loved old cars and trucks. He spent countless hours helping his son build a drag car.
In 1985, he moved to Gainesville and enjoyed his time here until moving away to be closer to family in 2004.
He was a beloved family man whose grandchildren put a twinkle in his eye. It didn’t matter what he was busy doing, when a grandchild said his name, he would stop and help or listen patiently. His children and grandchildren were his most prized treasure in life.
He is survived by his children, Shane Rudminat and wife Billie of Springfield, Shane Wages and wife Sonja of Willow Springs, Danny Rudminat and wife Tricia of Princeton, Candi Cookie and husband Chuck of Lewisburg, Ohio, and Bobby Wages and wife Ciera of Powersville, Missouri; former wife Diane Wages of West Manchester, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; siblings Leroy Wages and wife Jean, Marilyn Sherbonda, Deanie Wages, and Dianna Lamb and husband Everett; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Waylon Wages; siblings Carletta West, Juanita Carlstrom, Evelyn Henderson, Shirley Herring, LaVern Wages, Jinnie Weggen and an infant sister, Eva June Wages.
