Dale Eugene Marshall, 75

Funeral services for Dale Eugene Marshall, 75, of Tupelo, Oklahoma, were held Nov. 13, 2020, at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate, Oklahoma, with Wendell Ingram officiating. Mr. Marshall died Nov. 11 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He was born Nov. 27, 1944, in Elijah, the son of Tommy Carl and Lou Jenell Farel Marshall. He graduated from Dora High School in 1963 and then attended what is now Missouri State University in Springfield, graduating with an associate’s degree.

Mr. Marshall was a journey lineman, starting with Kansas City Power & Light. He then worked for the Department of Energy for over 25 years until he retired. He proudly served with the Army in the Vietnam War.

On Nov. 21, 1970, in Grandview, he married Mary “Marie” Wray. They spent almost 50 wonderful years together. He was a member of the Tupelo Church of Christ and Bright Star 113 Masonic Lodge in Stonewall. He was a Boy Scout leader and Scout Master, and a 32nd Degree Shriner at the Masonic Lodge in McAlester, Oklahoma. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, tending to animals and making knives out of deer antlers. 

He is survived by his wife, Marie, of Tupelo; children Jennifer M. Miller and husband Bert of Tupelo, John D. Marshall and wife Priscilla of Jesse, Oklahoma, Christina E. Stanton and  husband Gabe of Simla, Colorado; grandchildren Taylor Miller, Keira Miller and Everly Miller, all of Tupelo, Elizabeth M. Marshall and Serena F. Marshall, both of Jesse, Clarity Stanton of Simla and Wyatt Stanton, both of Simla; siblings Carl Wayne Marshall and wife Silena of Stover, Missouri, and Georgia Ellison and husband Donald of Caulfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Alfred Rex Marshall.

Burial will be in the Centrahoma Cemetery.
