These candidates were at the clerk's office at 8 a.m. when filing opened: (from left) Christy Thompson, incumbent candidate for treasurer; Jama Berry, incumbent candidate for assessor; Ozark County Deputy Cpl. James Hodges, pictured on a bluff overlooking the area known locally as “the forks,” where Bryant Creek meets the North Fork of the White River at Tecumseh, volunteers with the David’s Trail nonprofit organization to plan and build hiking trails on Corps of Engineers land along Norfork Lake. When completed, the proposed Ozark County trail section will connect the Ozark Trail in Missouri and the Ozark Highlands Trail in Arkansas. While recently in the area flagging the path, Hodges wore an Ozark Trail hat, Ozark Highlands Trail shirt and David’s Trail water bottle to represent the organizations involved in the project.
