Western District Commissioner Layne Nance confirmed Monday that the bright orange signage at Haskins Ford has been “flipped down” to warn residents that the crossing is under water, and the roadway is closed. When the area is passable, the bottom sections of the signs are flipped upward, hiding the message. This photo was taken Monday afternoon. Nance said the water in Bull Shoals lake is still rising, and County Road 863 continues to be closed at the ford.
This still image was taken from a video posted on Facebook in August 2020 that shows a man hitting a horse with a shovel, eventually breaking the shovel. The post, which had been shared more than 5,000 times before it was removed, prompted messages of concern and outrage to the Ozark County Times and the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office.
