Heavy machinery at Tecumseh

Heavy machinery was spotted at the Tecumseh access of Norfork Lake over the weekend, and some residents have wondered if the equipment means the Army Corps of Engineers has begun its planned renovation of the Tecumseh access, officially scheduled to begin in December 2019 and be completed by April 2020. Mark Case, project manager in the Corps’ Mountain Home, Arkansas, office, told the Times that is not the case. He said the equipment has been brought in by the Missouri Department of Transportation to repair scour holes around the bridge abutments and piers, and those repairs should be completed within the week. The park and its access from Highway 160 have been closed since severe damage occurred during the spring 2017 flood.
