Thelma Rose ‘Terry’ DeForest, 77

Thelma “Terry” DeForest, 77, of Theodosia, died peacefully on Feb. 16, 2018, at the Gainesville Health Care Center. No local services are planned at this time. 

She was born June 9, 1940, in Spir Fish, South Dakota, the daughter of Lena Agnes Schomer and Hans Arthur Sonne. 

In 1958 in South Dakota, she married Kenneth Carl DeForest. In Gainesville, she volunteered at the Ozark County Volunteer Library.

She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Earl DeForest, David Wayne DeForest and wife Jill, Donald DeForest and wife Wanda, and Dennis DaWayne DeForest and wife Samantha; her daughters, Stacy DeForest and Lori Lee Dunn and husband Mike; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister Dorthy Bland of Denver, Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and several brothers and sisters.
