Gainesville FBLA students compete at districts

Gainesville High School FBLA placed in the top five in 22 events and had 18 students qualify for state at the District 14 Leadership Conference held Friday, Feb. 2, in West Plains. 
Gainesville FBLA member Eli Amyx was elected District 14 president, and Abigail Milligan, also from Gainesville, was elected vice president of FBLA-PBL relations. 
Winners were: Javy Rosas – first place accounting; Cole Hershberger – fourth place accounting; Ashley Poe, Brexton Miller and Danielle Cummings – third place broadcast journalism; Jaima DeVries – fifth place business calculations; Garrett Morgan– third place business calculations; Shelby Kinsey – fourth place computer applications; Justin Goins – fifth place cyber security, first place help desk; Eli Amyx – first place Future Business Leader; Lisa Burke – third place healthcare administrator; Aubrey Turingan, Guilia Cecchin, Jaima DeVries – fourth place hospitality management; Daniel Miller – first place intro to business and third place personal finance; Katelyn Burke – fifth place intro to business communications; Ben Pointer – second place intro to FBLA, third place intro to financial math, second place intro to parliamentary procedure; Abigail Milligan – first place intro to parliamentary procedure, second place intro to public speaking; Danielle Cummings – fifth place journalism; Cassy Doebler – second place journalism; Abigail Milligan, Eli Amyx, Shelby Kinsey, Blakely Morrison, Madison Trivitt – first place parliamentary procedure; Chasity Mansker and Shai Meek – first place public service announcement; Branetta McNece – fourth place public speaking; Faith Harlin, Jaxon Britt, Brandon Poe – fourth place, sports and entertainment management; Acacia Hutchings – fourth place, word processing.
