Ashley Ellison honored

Ashley Ellison of Hiram Shaddox Geriatric Health and Rehab in Mountain Home, Arkansas, was recently presented with the Director of Nursing of the Year caregiver award by the Arkansas Health Care Association and Arkansas Assisted Living Association. Ellison, originally from Gainesville, started her career as a certified nursing assistant and worked her way up to become director of nursing. A news release says the award honors “impeccable leaders who are committed to their residents, their residents’ health and their nurses’ quality of life. The Director of Nursing must be a strong caregiver, administrator and emergency responder.” The Arkansas Health Care Association is the state’s largest organization of long-term care providers, representing 93 percent of the licensed long-term care facilities in Arkansas.
