Fostering joy this Christmas

Shelter Insurance agent Doug Hawkins shows the Fostering Joy collection box that was delivered to his Gainesville office Monday. The charitable project gives area residents another opportunity to help make Christmas merry for foster children in Ozark, Douglas and Wright counties by donating new, unwrapped toys to be given to foster kids ranging in age from newborns to age 18. The effort is sponsored by a new nonprofit group, Loving the Least of These, which has been organized to support foster children in Ozark, Douglas and Wright counties. Besides the Shelter Insurance office in Gainesville, other collection sites are the Dora School and the Heart of the Ozarks Medical Equipment (H.O.M.E.) location next to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains. For more information, or for donation pick-up, contact volunteer Marcie Roberts, 417-712-1402. The toy-dropoff deadline is Monday, Dec. 18, so that volunteers have time to distribute the donated toys to area foster families.
