Long-Term Recovery Committee to meet

The Ozark County Long-Term Recovery Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, at the Lions Club building on Third Street in Gainesville.

Committee members are hoping representatives from area churches will join the committee as well as any other residents who are interested in working together to address the unmet needs of Ozark County residents impacted by the most recent as well as future disasters.

Tecumseh resident Shawn Taylor and Pontiac resident Sharon David serve as committee co-chairs. 

The group’s goals are to: 

• Provide coordinated management of disaster long-term recovery.

• Provide long-term assistance, as available, to eligible individuals affected by disaster.

• Advocate for ongoing resources and preparedness cooperating with government, faith-based community, civic and voluntary agencies.
