Gainesville FBLA

The Gainesville High School FBLA chapter participated in the 2017 FBLA National Fall Leadership Conference Nov. 9-11 at the  St. Louis Hyatt Regency Hotel in St. Louis. The conference provided students with opportunities to learn business and networking skills and to grow as leaders. Members attended workshops, listened to motivational speakers, toured the Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company and Busch Stadium, visited the St. Louis Zoo and networked with other Missouri FBLA members at the City Museum. When asked what they learned from the conference, one student responded, “Give when you have the chance; leading isn’t about you, and it takes 10 positive comments to make up for one negative remark.” FBLA adviser Chelsey Gilmore said the trip gave members a chance to see business firsthand and have fun while learning. Gainesville members who attended the conference  were, from left, (front) Abigail Milligan, Star Janes, Ruthanne Doebler, Kellie Thomas, Ashley Poe; (second row) Acacia Hutchings, Payton Lynne, Patience Naegle, Katelyn Burke, Emily McKinzie; (third row) Gavin Broderick, Cole Hershberger, Danielle Cummings, Eli Amyx, Malakye Ray; (fourth row) Lisa Burke, Martha Wood, Austin Petter, Justin Goins; (fifth row) Hannah Carter, Ben Pointer and Golda Biby.
