Stephen ‘Steve’ Berger, 69

Inurnment with full military honors of the cremains of Stephen Wilbert “Steve” Berger 69, of Theodosia, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2107, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis County. Mr. Berger died Nov. 8 in Branson.

He was born Nov. 11, 1947, in St. Louis, the son of Wilbert and Frances Wagner Berger. He proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam era. He was proud of his 41 years of work as a civil servant in the U.S. Postal Service. He loved fishing, and the happiest days of his life were living at the lake. 

Survivors include his mother, Frances Wagner Berger of St. Louis; his sons Devron Berger and wife Connie of Arnold and Brian Wendt and wife Michelle Wendt of Hillsboro; one daughter, Robin Chitwood and husband Ronnie of St. Peters; nine grandchildren: Christina, Austin, Ethan, Amanda, Brian, Andrew, Amanda, Emma and Samantha; 12 great-grandchildren: and three sisters: Brenda Card, Linda Luschuck and Sue Gardenhire.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbert Rudolph Berger, and two brothers: Bill Berger and an infant brother.
