Firearms deer season opens Saturday

Missouri firearms deer season opens Saturday and will run for 10 days, through Tuesday, Nov. 21.

Hunters are allowed only one antlered deer during the entirety of firearms season (all portions combined). Two antlered deer may be taken in combination of archery and firearms hunting seasons combined. Hunters may fill two firearms antlerless deer hunting permits during firearms season. Archery hunters are allowed to purchase and fill any number of archery antlerless deer hunting permits.

A resident or nonresident youth age 6 to 15 is eligible to purchase a half-priced resident firearms any-deer permit or a resident antlerless deer hunting permit.

Hunters can buy their permits in several ways: at many local convenience stores and other vendors, by using the MO Hunting app (permit appears immediately on your smart phone after purchase), by calling 1-800-392-4115 (phone-processed permits require a $1 surcharge) or  online at huntfish.mdc.mo.gov/permits.
