Big Bob's fishing report: Nov. 1, 2017

Cooler temperatures will soon bring down water temperatures, and fishing will improve. Bass are being caught on top-water, spinnerbaits and jigs. Both main lake areas and creeks are producing fish. The challenge is to find keeper fish.

Walleye fishermen are having luck with bass using spoons, especially the Binks spoon. Crappie fishermen on both lakes are doing well with live minnows the bait of choice. We will continue to stock minnows through the winter months.

The Bama Rig will soon dominate fishing for both bass and walleye, and this week we are scheduled to receive 1,100 plastic minnow-type baits for use on the rig. Several different colors will be available, and I urge you to get them while we have them. It will take time for us to order replacements.

Pfleuger has remodeled their President spinning reel, and I should have them by the middle of December. These reels are among the best spinning reels on the market and are reasonably priced.

Big Bob’s will be closed for a week starting Nov. 11. We will reopen Thanksgiving week.
