Sheriff's report: Oct. 23 - 30, 2017

Oct. 23

10:26 a.m. – Unspecified medical. Lick Creek VFD and Ozark County Ambulance responded. Coroner was also dispatched.

11:18 a.m. – Subject arrested on Tarmac Drive. OCSD. 

12:00 p.m. – Mailbox stolen on Country Road 519A. OCSD spoke with female subject; possible civil issue.

12:19 p.m. – Real estate agent is at a house on County Road 638 that has been stripped. OCSD officer talked with caller.

3:09 p.m. – Caller said a white bulldog with a black spot on its eye, and a black Lab-type dog have been coming into his yard on High School Drive and acting aggressive. Officer spoke with dog owner. Warning issued.

3:58 p.m. – Caller said his ex-wife was supposed to pick up child and have visitation from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today but has not picked up child for visitation. Wanted on record for court.

5:44 p.m. – Caller says male subject came to her house on Oct. 8 with a rifle, demanding to speak with a female he believed broke into his home and stole money and jewelry. Handled by officer.  

6:26 p.m. – Medical: male in his 70s is experiencing confusion and possible blood-sugar issues. OCA responded; patient was transported to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains.

6:28 p.m. – Cow in roadway on Highway 181 near Zanoni Mill. Dispatcher contacted animal owner. 

6:40 p.m. – Caller said a dog is attacking other dogs on County Road 635. Officer spoke with animal owner; he said he will take care of the dog getting out.

6:52 p.m. – Caller said someone has attempted to set a double-wide trailer on fire that he recently purchased. Officer spoke with caller and neighbors. 

9:18 p.m. – Caller said she heard someone fire four shots; she’s not sure if someone is poaching. Referred to Missouri Department of Conservation agent.

 

Oct. 24

3:04 a.m. – Medical: Inmate needs insulin check for his diabetes. OCA responded.

6:02 a.m. – Deer has been hit and is still alive in the middle of Highway 181. OCSD responded; animal was gone on arrival.

6:53 a.m. – Traffic stop: assistance rendered on Highway 5 north.

7:44 a.m. – Caller said cows are out on Highway 181 at Zanoni bridge. Dispatcher called owner; they are putting up the cattle.

8:24 a.m. – Medical: 80-year-old female is sweating and has high pulse rate. Timber Knob VFD and OCA responded. Patient was transported to OMC.

10:15 a.m. – Debris reported in roadway on Highway 5 south. OCSD rendered assistance.

10:22 a.m. – Caller reported a tree across road on Highway 95 south of Thornfield. OCSD rendered assistance.

11:19 a.m. – Medical: male with history of heart trouble and COPD is having trouble breathing and has blood pressure of 177/103. Contacted Howell County. 

2:19 p.m. – Prisoner transport: Aaron White.

2:22 p.m. – Prisoner transport: Rebecca Ruud to Taney County Jail on change of venue.

6:52 p.m. – Physical domestic disturbance reported at Airport Trailer Park. OCSD responded.

6:59 p.m. – Caller hit deer on Highway 160 west of Highway 5 north in a 2006 Dodge Dart, resulting in driver-side damage. Gainesville VFD responded; no debris in roadway.

7:34 p.m. – Caller said a transformer is sparking on Highway 95 north, west of Souder turnoff. Wasola VFD responded; WRVEC was contacted.

8:48 p.m. – Caller reported loud music coming from residence on Highway 181. Handled by officer. 

9:25 p.m. – Caller said door is open and a light is on inside the old Souder schoolhosue on County Road 142. OCSD responded; checked OK. Subject had recently purchased the property and is fixing it up.

11:47 p.m. – Caller said she hears people out in her barn, and people are driving heavy machinery up and down County Road 835. OCSD responded; unable to locate.

 

Oct. 25

3:00 a.m. – Caller said a Honda car, possibly white or gray, is driving up and down County Road 523, revving the engine. OCSD responded; unable to locate.

5:40 a.m. – Medical: 67-year-old male on Medical Drive is having possible CVA (stroke). OCA responded. 

6:22 a.m. – Cow is in Highway 95 roadway near Thornfield School. Animal owner was contacted.

7:23 a.m. – Caller hit deer in her 2009 Ford Edge, resulting in damage to the front end. Wanted on record for insurance.

8:34 a.m. – Another vehicle backed into caller’s vehicle on Harlin Drive. Short narrative report taken.

8:37 a.m. – Caller said a drain on the north side of her house on County Road 659 has been dug up; she said it must have been done between Oct. 10-17 when she was gone. Wanted on record.

11:43 a.m. – Caller said the backdoor is open on a home, and the owner is in the nursing home; also, the grass needs to be mowed. OCSD checked; door was open, but officer didn’t see anything inside that looked as if it had been disturbed.

12:24 p.m. – Caller said a semi-truck on Highway 5 north by Bryant Plastics is all over the road; the box trailer has a red tarp over the top of it. OCSD rendered assistance.

2:57 pm. – Medical: unconscious person at Cloud 9 Ranch. OCA responded. Patient was transported to OMC.

3:42 p.m. – Civil matter: people were escorted from a residence on Highway 160 west. OCSD.

3:44 p.m. – Dora VFD responded in mutual aid to Douglas County for vehicle accident.

6:34 p.m. – Caller in Theodosia said another person is harassing her. OCSD responded. Gone on arrival.

7:16 p.m. – Driver hit a deer on Highway 101; no injuries. 

7:27 p.m. – Caller reported people who are fighting over items in a trailer house on County Road 557. OCSD responded.

9:15 p.m. – Caller in Tecumseh said she has had a donkey and a horse die within the last three months, and she is having bloodwork done on the animals. Caller wanted it on record for now until results of bloodwork come back.

 

Oct. 26

1:24 a.m. –  Inmate needs medical attention for arm. OCA responded.

3:28 a.m. – Stranded motorist on T Highway at Mammoth just west of church. OCSD rendered assistance.

10:25 a.m. – Medical: Elderly male has high blood pressure and heart rate. OCA, Theodosia Area VFD and Air Evac responded. Patient was transported by Air Evac.

11:32 a.m. – Car has broken down on Highway 160 just east of Spring Creek Bridge, blocking eastbound lane. Unable to locate. 

2:57 p.m. – Caller said someone had cut the lock off his storage unit on County Road 132. OCSD responded.

9:15 p.m. – Caller said someone had shot his dog on County Road 806. OCSD responded.

11:06 p.m. – Caller on East Tower Drive said someone had untied his dog. OCSD rendered assistance. Dog was not untied. Extra leash had been added to the wire.

 

Oct. 27

3:36 a.m. – Medical: 93-year-old female has pulled out her feeding tube. OCA responded. Patient was transported to OMC

6:56 a.m. – Caller reported a careless and imprudent drive operating a red car on Highway 160 near the sale barn. OCSD rendered assistance.

7:05 a.m. – OMC called and asked that someone at a specified residence be told that a woman at OMC was ready to be picked up. OMC called back; the number provided was legit, and they had contacted the family to come pick up the woman.

7:40 a.m. – Caller reported a lost or stolen tag on Highway 160. Entered into MULES as lost or stolen.

1:38 p.m. – Employee at Antler Package Store has video of a stealing incident; she is bringing it to OCSD office. Report taken.

4:40 and 4:46 p.m. – Structure fire on County Road 379 in Dora. Dora VFD responded with mutual aid from Tecumseh and Eastern Douglas VFDs. Red Cross, OCA and Howell-Oregon Electric also responded. 

6:08 p.m. – Party on County Road 806 has had brake line cut on a vehicle. Wanted on record.

6:39 p.m. – Medical: medical alert was activated on T Highway. OCA responded. False alarm.

8:11 p.m. – Medical: 85-year-old man has taken 15 hydrocodone pills. Thornfield VFD and OCA responded.

 8:48 p.m. – OnStar alert activated when vehicle hit a deer on Highway 160 east. MSHP and Duke’s towing dispatched.

8:55 a.m. – Suspicious vehicle reported in Gainesville. Caller wanted it on record.

9:12 p.m. – Warrant arrest on D Highway: Sharlene Deever. 

9:38 p.m. – Driver hit deer with her 2004 Kia on Arkansas Highway 201. Wanted on record.

10:54 and 10:55 p.m. – Vehicle accident on J Highway with possible entrapment. OCSD, Gaines-ville VFD and Baxter Ambulance dispatched. VFD was canceled. 

 

Oct. 28

12:01 a.m. – MSHP Troop G notified OCSD of a child abduction involving one female and one toddler. Suspects are traveling on Highway 160 from Taney County in a white Ford Winstar with unknown license place. Two black males, one white male. OCSD rendered assistance. Vehicle was stopped in Branson.

4:49 a.m. – Caller said two males with hoods and masks went into J-Mart Bullseye; caller is worried about worker there. Dispatcher called the store. Employee said subjects were just wearing winter hats.

8:32 a.m. – Caller found Dachshund-type dog on D Highway at County Road 863. Wanted on record in case animal’s owner calls.

10:28 a.m. – A black calf is out on T Highway at Mammoth near church. Dispatcher was unable to determine animal’s owner. No police action.

1:12 p.m. – Ten cows are out on County Road 517. Dispatcher contacted possible animal owner.

7:07 p.m. – Medical: 66-year-old man has fallen from a tree stand on County Road 619. MDC notified; assistance rendered.

7:40 p.m. –  Warrant arrest in Pontiac. OCSD.

7:52 p.m. – Caller reported property damage / vandalism on County Road 382 and a fight with caller’s neighbor. OCSD responded. 

9:19 p.m. – Medical: Four-wheeler accident with head injuries. OCA responded.

 

Oct. 29

1:40 a.m. – Suspicious vehicle reported at Bennett’s Auto. OCSD responded; checked OK.

11 a.m. – Medical: 72-year-old female fell three hours ago and is experiencing rib and side pain. OCA responded. Patient was transported to OMC.

1:39 p.m. – Medical: 60-year-old female has compound fracture in lower leg. OCA responded; patient was transported to BRMC.

6:30 p.m. – Caller said her husband was hitting her. She came into OCSD office and filed statement.

7:37 p.m. – Caller said her mother was supposed to be at her son’s birthday party at 3 p.m. today and had gotten into an argument with her husband and left; caller has been unable to make contact with her by phone. Handled by OCSD officer. Female had taken purse and all the pain meds. Vehicle was entered into MULES; phone pinged in Baxter County, Arkansas. At 9:09 p.m., the female came home.

8:25 – Caller hit a deer in a 2003 Cadillac at Highway 160 and Ball Park Road. Wanted on record. 

9:10 p.m. – Warrant arrest in Isabella. OCSD.

11:22 p.m. – Suspicious vehicle – red Dodge truck – parked in woods at park. OCSD rendered assistance.

 

Oct. 30

12:01 a.m. – Traffic stop in Gainesville High School parking lot. OCSD rendered assistance.

12:23 and 12:31 a.m. – Car and brush fire across from Lilly Ridge Church; car is fully engulfed. OCSD, Lick Creek VFD and  Gainesville VFD responded.
