Dora girls record first ever 20-win season

The Dora Lady Falcons have turned a lot of heads this season, and the team set a school record this past week picking up its 20th win of the season — a first for a Dora girls' team, said coach Cecil Meyer.

The win, a 73-34 shellacking over New Covenant, improved the Lady Falcons to 20-6 on the year.

Sophomore Shelby Collins exploded offensively for Dora, pouring in 24 points to lead the Lady Falcon charge against New Covenant. Collins went 4 for 5 from three-point range and shot 11 for 17 from the field. She also had 3 assists and 2 steals.

Kelsi Land was also in double figures, netting 13 points for Dora and adding 7 steals.

The Lady Falcons had already secured the second seed in districts last week with a win over Koshkonong on Feb. 4, 60-25.

Kelsi Land led Dora with 13 points, followed by Shelby Collins with 11. Samantha Jackson and Shelby Harris each had 9 points for Dora. Jordan Smith netted 8 while Cheyanna Miller scored 7 for Dora.
