Firefighters fought a large grass and woods fire for almost five hours Thursday afternoon near Theodosia.
Firefighters from five departments, the Missouri Department of Conservation and the Corps of Engineers fought the 75-acre fire on CR 639.
No structures were damaged, said Capt. Allen Edgington of the Theodosia Area Volunteer Fire Department.
Edgington said the fire most likely started from embers from a 12-acre Wednesday afternoon brush fire in the same area. He said the embers were reignited and blew across the road by the high winds.
