WRVEC linemen compete
Gainesville-based White River Valley Electric Co-op linemen Steve Martin and Tyler Headrick were among the WRVEC linemen who recently competed in state and international lineman competitions. Mike Parsons, Martin and Headrick from the Gainesville office and Nick Pitts from the Ozark office. The competitions promote safe work practices, provide a forum for understanding and recognizing linemen’s technical skills, and provide an opportunity for those in the linework trade to receive recognition for their skills, according to a WRVEC spokesperson. Competitive events include the hurt-man rescue, pole climb and several “mystery” events. The team Martin and Headrick served with in the international competition placed 18th in the co-op division and 161th overall out of 220 participating teams.
