Wasola man arrested on sex charges dating from 2007
Ozark County Sheriff Darrin Reed issued a news release this morning (Nov. 2) saying Jerry Studdard, 52, of Wasola, has been arrested on two counts of statutory sodomy and one count of forcible sodomy. The cases go back as far as 2007, the sheriff said, and "multiple other charges" are expected. According to the probable cause statement, the charges stem from incidents involving a child who was about 12 years old at the time. The news release says authorities are "in the process of locating another child who is being hid out." Studdard was arrested at 6:37 p.m. Wednesday. Studdard is being held in the Ozark County Jail on a $100,000 cash-only bond. We'll have more on this story in the Nov. 8 edition of the Times.
