Washdae the dog is finally back home

Dog lost after fatal crashis reunited with owner

Washdae, a dog who went missing after a Feb. 17 crash on Highway 5 south that claimed the life of Michael “Micky” Clark of Flippin, Arkansas, was found Thursday, Feb. 20, at a residence on Highway 5 south. Washdae, who was riding in Clark’s truck when the crash occurred, belongs to Clark’s fiancee, Debbie Baize, also of Flippin. The dog ran into the woods at the crash scene, and friends and family were unable to locate him for three days. According to Baize’s co-worker, a phone call led Baize to an enclosed yard where Washdae was found, apparently unhurt and happy to see her. “[Baize] will be OK now,” said the co-worker. “The dog will help her through this. He helped her through her husband’s death five years ago, and he will help her through losing Micky. I firmly believe this is the way Debbie will be OK.” Left: Baize happily hugs Washdae, while her son Steven looks on.
