Trial rescheduled for Bakersfield man charged in alleged sexual assault

Warren Price, a Bakersfield man who was charged in 2018 with two counts of sodomy or attempted sodomy in connection with the allegation that he sexually assaulted a family member in a Branson hotel, has had his Taney County jury trial canceled.

The trial, which was set for Sept. 28 through Oct. 2, will be rescheduled during a Sept. 23 hearing.

The probable cause statement in the case, filed by the Branson Police, alleges that Price had deviate sexual intercourse with a victim who was incapacitated, incapable of consent or lacked the capacity to consent.

The report says the victim woke up during the assault, hit Price in the head and yelled at him, which woke up her mother and sibling who were sleeping in the room.

The alleged victim told police that a few days earlier Price had told her he wanted to touch her and sent her an inappropriate meme on Facebook messenger.
