A thank you from Gracie

Gracie Broncho, 2, and her mother, Lauren Abrahamson, recently presented this decorated sign to Robert Jorgensen, congratulating him for winning – and thanking him for participating in – the raffle sponsored by the VFW post in Isabella to raise money to help with Gracie’s medical expenses. Also shown is Butch Winslow, left, VFW post commander. Almost $800 was raised in the VFW raffle, which offered a “summer fun cooler” filled with dozens of items ranging from a water slide and surf rider to a wind chime and water sprinkler. A basket of adult prizes was also included with things like wine glasses, nail polish and decorative candles. The funds raised by the raffle helped with expenses related to Gracie’s Sept. 10 surgery at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. VFW spokesperson Nancy Winslow said the toddler, granddaughter of VFW employee Lana Broncho, is now doing very well. The VFW expressed thanks to VFW patrons who bought tickets and also to Just Jackie’s, Century Bank, and to Karen and Bob Metzger for their donations to the raffle prize.
