SHERIFF’S REPORT March 26- April 2, 2018

March 26
10:13 a.m. – Vehicle accident on Highway 101. One person involved, and they are out of the car, bleeding from the forehead and wanting to be checked by ambulance personnel. OCSD called Howell County 911 to tone out Caulfield VFD for traffic control. OCA responded. Patient was transported to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains.
10:27 a.m. – Trash dumping reported on County Road 809. OCSD officer talked with person on that road, and they stated they would clean it up.
10:43 a.m. – Caller said water has been turned off at a Theodosia-area residence on Pioneer Lane, but someone has used it and a dog is tied up to the front porch with no water or food. OCSD deputy spoke with caller, who said when meter man went to residence to pull the water meter, he was greeted by two juvenile boys who told him their dad was asleep. Meter man asked boys to wake him, and boys came back later and said Dad said to pull the meter. Reporting party believes a new tenant is renting the property.
1:51 p.m. – Caller said a person was at a Toyota dealership, trying to get them to take wired money for three cars the person was buying for a charity. When they said they would not take a wire, the person told them the boss would be there with a credit card to make the down payment. That was this morning. OCSD rendered assistance.
2:59 p.m. – Caller found a brown-and-white collie, 2 years old, with green collar and gray flea collar. Wanted it on record in case someone called. [Later] Dog has been reunited with owner.]
7:41 p.m. – Fire reported on Harlin Drive. Gainesville Fire responded; controlled burn.
8:03 p.m. – Medical: 58-year-old female is having trouble breathing and has nausea and fever. Theodosia Area VFD and OCA responded. Patient was transported to BRMC.
10:20 p.m. – Caller on County Road 501 said that, after hearing a knock at the door and not finding anyone there, he heard a large feed or dump truck speeding up the road from the quarry and turning westbound onto Highway 160. Officer spoke with caller, who said he has land leased at that location.
11:57 p.m. – OCSD traffic stop near Bulldog Apartments.

March 27
1:37 a.m. – Warrant arrest: Brandon Collins, Howell County line.
10:39 a.m. – Caller said red-and-orange truck with orange tape over the right tail light is spinning circles on County Road 903 off Highway 95 by Theodosia. MSHP, OCSD.
11:39 a.m. – Timber Knob VFD is in area checking for flooding.
3:07 p.m. – Lift assistance requested. Theodosia Area VFD responded.
6:34 p.m. – Caller said a male in a silver car was dumping trash into Subway’s dumpster. Wanted it on record.
9:38 p.m. – Caller reported finding a spare tire in Subway parking lot that dropped from the bottom of a truck. OCSD rendered assistance.
9:48 p.m. – Caller said someone is slumped over the steering wheel in a silver Chevy parked at Dollar General. OCSD officers responded but could not locate. They will check at nearby gas stations.

March 28
5:39 a.m. – OMC stress unit nurse called to say an intoxicated person in Ozark County is making suicidal statements. OCSD contacted the person several times, and he said multiple times he did not want a deputy to come and did not want to go back to the stress unit. He also said if deputies come to his address “they would never find him as he was no longer at this address.” He was going to contact his daughter to pick him up. Dispatch attempted to contact the daughter, leaving voice-mail messages for her to contact OCSD. To confirm her involvement, an officer called the daughter, who said she has had no contact with the individual. OCSD officer said the person is fine and does not want to go to stress unit.
7:50 a.m. – Medical: 52-year-old female has an abscess. Theodosia Area VFD and OCA responded. Patient was transported to OMC.
9:05 a.m. – Larry Yancey arrested on Marion County, Arkansas, warrant.
9:49 a.m. – Caller reported that a 2010 blue Ford Focus had broken down on County Road 617; Caller will have it fixed tomorrow. Wanted it on record so it would not be towed.  
11:39 a.m. – Medical: 58-year-old female with COPD is having trouble breathing. Theodosia Area VFD and OCA responded.
11:42 a.m. – Two-vehicle accident at Highways 5 and 160. No injuries. MSHP and Gainesville Fire responded.
12:50 p.m. – Caller reported three pigs in resident’s yard in Theodosia. Officer talked to caller on phone.
4:55 p.m. – Medical: 70-year-old male with COPD. Theodosia Area VFD and OCA responded.
5:28 p.m. – Caller reported a 12-year-old male out of control. Handled by officer.
7:23 p.m. – Caller wants someone removed from a location. Handled by officer.

March 29
2:39 a.m. – Medical: 74-year-old male with pneumonia isn’t getting enough oxygen. Theodosia Area VFD and OCA responded. Patient was transported to BRMC.
8:00 a.m. – Suspect is making threats by texts. Officer spoke with caller.
9:10 a.m. – Medical: 48-year-old male is having seizures. Tecumseh VFD and OCA responded.
9:34 a.m. – Medical: 48-year-old male having seizures. Tecumseh VFD and OCA responded.
10:52 a.m. – Well-being / security check on Keller Drive after a 911 hang-up. Thornfield VFD responded, Cox Ambulance in Ava was requested but then was canceled.
11:06 a.m. – OCSD-Howell County prisoner transport: Elizabeth Taylor.
11:41 a.m. – White car reported in ditch on J Highway about 2 miles from Highway 160. No injuries. MSHP responded.
2:08 p.m. – County workers reported what may be the top of a a reddish-orange top of a car at Haskins Ford. OCSD rendered assistance.
7:50 p.m. – Suspicious incident: caller said someone is walking around at Wagon Wheel apartments Handled by OCSD officer.
9:49 p.m. – Traffic stop in Hardenville.
9:52 p.m. – Caller said someone hit her in the head at Sims Cemetery. Caller called back and said she doesn’t want to press charges.
10:10 p.m. – Security alarm sounding at Country Tire.
10:45 p.m. – Warrant arrest at West Ridge Apartments: Amy Graham.
11:08 p.m. – Traffic stop near cell tower west of Gainesville. OCSD rendered assistance.
11:12 p.m. – Caller on County Road 920 off JJ Highway heard shots. OCSD rendered assistance.

March 30
1:08 a.m. – Vehicle hit cow on JJ Highway near County Road 957. Car was damaged; cow is not dead. No injuries. OCSD rendered assistance.
11:20 a.m. – Tree reported across County Road 527.  OCSD dispatch contacted presiding commissioner John Turner.
11:34 a.m. – Property damage / vandalism reported at Bullseye. Report taken.
3:33 p.m. – Caller said two red gates were stolen from her property on County Road 873. Wanted this on record. OCSD rendered assistance.
3:54 p.m. – Well-being / security check requested on woman who called her father saying her husband had beaten her. OCSD responded; checked OK.
4:32 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle with Arkansas plates on his property in Gainesville. Wanted it on record.
7:14 p.m. – Caller said subject will not bring child to meet her. Needed this on record.
9:01 p.m. – Caller said a car is laying black marks and tearing up the county road off Highway 101 south of Bakersfield.
11:14 p.m. – Traffic stop east of park near Skyline Drive. Court date given: 9 a.m. June 26.
11:32 p.m. – Medical: 80-year-old female has been throwing up for two hours. OCA responded. Patient transported to Cox Hospital-Branson.
11:38 p.m. – Caller at Ranch House said a customer who had gone outside was drunk and kept hanging around the building then came up to the caller’s car when caller was about to leave. Person was acting “really weird’ and when told to leave, they hid behind the building. OCSD responded. Unable to locate.

March 31
9:09 a.m. – Structure fire, Highway 160 Theodosia. Theodosia Area VFD responded with Timber Knob, Pontiac and Gainesville dispatched in mutual aid and OCA dispatched for standby. Mutual aid responders and OCA canceled.
9:29 a.m. – $20 gas drive-off at 9:02 a.m. at Bullseye by Subway: full-size short-bed gray GMC pickup. Caller will bring in surveillance tape and will complete statement.
12:41 p.m. – Crisis hotline called, requesting well-being check on suicidal client who was making suicidal comments. Other family members are outside the home. Firearms in the home are known to be locked up, but client knows combination. Handled by OCSD officer.
7:45 p.m. – Search warrant executed at Theodosia.
9:58 p.m. – Unspecified medical call. OCA responded.

April 1
10:21 a.m. – Single-vehicle rollover accident on W Highway in front of Oaks Motel in Pontiac. Pontiac Price Place VFD, OCA and Air Evac responded. One patient was transported by Air Evac to Cox South Hospital in Springfield; second patient was transported by OCA to BRMC .
11:13 a.m. – Possible drunk driver reported on Highway 101 northbound, unable to maintain lines. Referred to MSHP.
12:20 p.m. – Tan-and-white steer by roadway on Highway 160 one mile east of Lightning Springs Road. Contacted animal owner.
12:38 p.m. – Caller requested a well-being / security check on a male subject. OCSD officer contact the person, who said he is OK but did not wish to have contact with the requesting party.
3:05 p.m. – Well-being / security check requested. OCSD rendered assistance; no one was home.
4:13 p.m. – Possible drunk driver reported in white Dodge with no tail gate on Highway 5 south. MSHP.
5:54 p.m. – Possible fatality, Highways JJ and 95. Handled by officer.
5:58 p.m. – Possible suicide. Thornfield VFD and OCA responded. Call was canceled.
9:26 p.m. – Medical: 66-year-old has chest pain and shortness of breath. Dora VFD and OCA responded. Patient was transported to BRMC.

April 2
7:14 a.m. – Prisoner transport: Robin Greathouse, Southeast Correctional Center in Charleston.
